Respite = To give or grant temporary relief; to reprieve.

Respite = A temporary break; relief from caregiving duties.

Neighborhood Nursing Care is vendored with the Regional Centers to provide respite to families of special needs children.  This can make a world of difference in helping a family maintain the stamina needed to continue the important work they are doing with their loved one at home.

How will Neighborhood Nursing Care find my Respite Worker ?

1. Begin by deciding what are the duties you would like your respite worker to provide?
2. What hours would be ideal to achieve your ultimate respite?
3. Ask yourself the question: "What would it take for me to feel comfortable to leave this worker with my child so that I can achive my respite goals?"

At Neighborhood Nursing Care we will take your ideal scenario and match them up with the workers we have to bring to you respite you can be happy and secure with.

Over the last few years, we have experienced that including families in obtaining their own workers has helped to "raise the bar" to enhance the "trust" factors and quality of care for their family members. We encourage this.

We believe that it is essential for us to promote the development of a lasting and personal relationship between the family and the worker. In order to encourage this relationship, we make sure that the families and the workers are able to be in direct contact with each other and will feel free to schedule according to their mutual needs.

To provide the greatest chance of a successful family/worker relationship, we require all of our respite workers, as they accept an assignment, to personally meet with the family, assuring that everyone is comfortable with the arrangements prior to making a committment to serve the family.
